Berdibek Saparbayev

Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan

 

 

 

Berdibek Saparbayev was born on Feb. 9, 1953, in the village of Besaryk, Yanykurgan District (Zhanakorgan), Kyzylorda region.

He began his career in 1969 as a worker at the Zadarinsky State Farm.

In 1977 he graduated from the Alma-Ata Institute of National Economy with a degree in economics. After graduation, he worked as an economist at the Republican Office of State Labor Bank Savings.

From 1977 to 1988 he worked in the Ministry of Finance of the Kazakh SSR. First as an economist, then as a senior economist, a leading, chief economist, deputy head of the department.

From 1988 to 1994 he was head of Planning and Financial Department, deputy minister of education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

About a year he was deputy head of a department at the Office of the President and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 1994 to 1995 he was deputy head, then head of the Department of Finance, Labor and Social Protection of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers.

From March to September 1995 he headed the Cabinet of Ministers.

In September 1995 he was appointed akim of the Kyzylorda region.

From July 1999 to August 2002 –he was akim of the South Kazakhstan region.

In 2002 he was appointed chairman of the Customs Control Agency, then vice minister of finance – chairman of the Customs Control Committee of the Ministry of Finance.

From 2006 to 2007 he was deputy head of the Office of the Prime Minister – representative of the Government in the Parliament of Kazakhstan.

From February to August 2007 he was vice minister of economy and budget planning.

In August 2007 he was appointed minister of labor and social protection of the population.

From March 4, 2009, to Nov. 11, 2014, he was akim of the East Kazakhstan region.

On Nov. 11, 2014, by the Decree of the Head of State he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister.

On Sep. 11, 2015, by the Decree of the President he was appointed akim of the Aktobe region.

On Feb. 25, 2019, by the Decree of the President he was appointed minister of labor and social protection of the population.
