Deputy Minister of Agriculture Rustem Kurmanov told about last year’s main trends in the agricultural sector.

“In the 11 months of 2017, exports of agricultural products and processed goods grew 10%. In general, the list of export destinations is expanding – the Chinese market is now open to fish products, lamb, beekeeping produce, wheat and soybeans. As a result, exports of agricultural products to the People's Republic of China grew 30%,” – he said.

According to him, the supply of basic food products of domestic production was more than 80%. Kurmanov also noted that in order to increase the efficiency of processing agricultural products, the Ministry is proposing to apply the model of anchor agricultural cooperation around large enterprises.

“In the agricultural processing industry, the volume of cereals production increased by 23%, canned vegetables by 16%, vegetable oil by 15% and canned meat by 12%. The share of processing in total production in 2017 for meat was 32%, for milk - 30%. In 2016, the share was 31.3% for meat, and 27% for milk. That is, there is an increase in the share of processing. At the same time, there is a decrease in sugar production by 20%, and sausage goods by 3.1%,” – he added.
